City-wide history
Over the course of the last few years the preternatural community in New York City has had many highs and lows.
These years have seen the rise and fall of leaders and even entire groups as the rats, bears, and foxes have all but
disappeared from the city due to a powerful spell that was cast upon the fractured lycanthrope community in 2017 that
brought rise to the pride.
Below is a complete history of the board up to this point in time.
2016
This dealt a devastating blow to all of the groups as the strongest among them were plucked from their midst and killed as a part of a ritual the Dark Coven was trying to complete. Those left behind were left to fend for themselves without the protection of their leaders or alphas.
Soon, a new Master of the City came in to take over the Kiss and slowly, after all the remaining members of the lycanthrope groups sent out calls and pleas for help, more alpha lycanthropes came to settle in the city and in a bit of time the leadership roles were filled once again and the preternatural community fought to rebuild even with the possible threat of the Coven returning loomed over their heads.
However, the Coven quietly vanished from the city as fast as they came in without a trace for RPIT to find, even after thorough investigation.Change is in the air and healing begins with a shadow cast over them - is this over or will there be more to come? In the world of the supernatural, anything is possible.
2017
The goal of the Dark Coven's plot was revealed once the Demon Thanos was let loose among the population. He was a wolf in sheep's clothing: attractive, seductive, and vaguely familiar to anyone he met only to be forgotten immediately after the encounter. His initial goal was simple, though intelligent in his methods. He granted the wishes that were spoken to him - ones that he coxed forth and without preamble would give the wisher exactly what they wanted. However, They say be careful what you wish for a reason, not only were the wishes turned and twisted to backfire, not to mention a wish granted was a soul stolen, bound to the demon to use as a source of power when he required it.
The leader of the Dark Coven, Talia, and Thanos took over the City for a night to achieve their goal: opening the Hell Gates and unleashing Hell on Earth. As a part of the spell, the city was put to sleep, those whose souls Thanoshad bound to himself were used as a focus for the power to open the gates. There were some who were able to fight the sleeping curse and it was their efforts that led to the defeat of Talia and Thanos. Both are presumed dead and gone at this point.
Thanos' presence in New York attracted another, a witch he had granted a wish to centuries ago who wanted revenge against him. She arrived in time to see his demise but also noticed how the lycanthrope community had become fractured and broken. Too sparse and spread out to actually protect each other. It was here when she cast an extremely powerful spell that no witch would have thought possible. The spell affected all of the lycanthropes, those in the smaller groups found their species changed so they would join those larger, stronger existing groups while others found themselves as Lions and they would go on to form the Nemean Pride. There were some others that were affected as well, some lycanthropes who were wolves or leopards who were drawn to another group might have found they became that species. While others were not affected at all. It was the hope of Melissa, the witch, that this would make the lycanthrope community stronger.
However, even with Thanos' defeat, some damage was already done; the Hell Gates had been cracked open and the veil between this plane and the next was thinned as a side effect of the ritual.The thinning veil made it easier for ghosts to cross onto and affect our plane, without needing the power to fight through the veil the city became overrun with vengeful, spiteful ghosts.
In late October, this manifested in dangerous ways. In the beginning, it had started out with the odd occurrence here and there, but nothing incredibly dangerous. But as the ghosts gained power that changed - half the city became infected with ghost sickness, a type of supernatural disease that not even lycanthropes and vampires were immune to. It caused irrational fear and panic, wounds mirroring the original ghost's injuries, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, and the end stages caused terror so intense the affected would suffer a deadly heart attack. Others in the city dealt with a different kind of danger: possessions. These were the work on even more powerful ghosts who were hellbent on causing injury and death.
It was only through the combined effort of the New York Collective Coven that the veil was repaired and the ghosts were sent back to where they belonged. And while, for many, this came just in time for their lives to be saved, for others it was too late and in the next few days the City would find countless bodies of victims who weren't saved in time.
2018
First came Pride, it inflated egos and gave confidence to those who didn't deserve it. While confidence in one's own abilities isn't necessarily a bad thing when it is earned and understood, the influence of the Pride of Sin caused crime and the destruction of lives in the borough of the Bronx. Petty criminals suddenly had the confidence to commit armed bank robberies and the citizens who would have normally cowered in fear and self-preservation would rise up to play the hero, which ended many lives. Careers were lost and dreams were shattered when the Pride of individuals got in the way of working together. After Pride moved out of the Bronx it moved South and caused the same problems all the way down the East Coast and is currently in Florida.
Next came Lust: intense longing and unbridled sexual desire. For the humans of Manhattan this led to public sex, inappropriate advances and a rise in sexually based offenses in the Borough. Marriages, relationships, and lives were ruined when those affected could not contain their desires and were forced to act on them. For the preternatural community, specifically for the lycanthropes and vampires, lust was everything it was for humans but carried a more deadly implication: bloodlust. New vampires and non-masters found it harder to resist and control their bloodlust and even Master vampires in Manhattan were forced to feed more often than was usually necessary to sate the bloodlust.
For lycanthropes, the bloodlust was the same, though instead of craving blood their beasts longed for the freedom to hunt, to feed. This led to even more run-ins between RPIT and the lycanthrope community. There were a few fatalities, but for the most part, RPIT was able to detain the individuals (both vampire and lycanthrope alike) and transport them outside of the borough where they were held in other precincts until they could control themselves. These vampires and lycanthropes were released without charges because of the extenuating circumstances and the fact that they were under the influence of "unknown magic." Lust made its way overseas and has been in the UK for a decent amount of time, now.
Wrath has seated itself over the Borough of Queens and it is sending the entire city into a panic. Wrath can be described as uncontrollable anger, rage, and even hatred - now imagine that it was infected all the citizens of Queens without discrimination. It is slowly growing within them all and it lingers even after they have left the area of Wrath's effect on anger is an emotion that is hard to let go of once it has taken root. Queens has seen a rise in crime, assault, murder, and riots. The National Guard along with other law enforcement units have been called in, but they constantly need to be rotated out because no one is immune to the effects of this Sin. There doesn't seem to be any reprieve in sight, and many believe that it's only going to get worse before it gets better.

2016
The pack has always been one of the largest lycanthrope groups in the city, this isn't uncommon for cities with
a werewolf pack as the werewolf strain of lycanthropy is one of the easiest to catch, second only to rats. Before
the Dark Coven mercilessly kidnapped and killed their leader and their alphas they were succeeding as a group; they
were strong and looked out for one another. There was a bit of strife with a rival pack, The Sharp Tooth Pack of Newark, New Jersey, that shared a territorial border with the Bone Cave Pack had been eyeing them for some time, wanting to expand their own territory into theirs. It was a strained peace between the two what with making and breaking treaties a little too often. There would be fights between members, leaving both physical and psychological scars on both sides. It wasn’t unheard of for a Bone Cave member to leave the pack in favor for the other as well as gain a member from the other side, cautiously, of course.
However, after both packs lost their leaders and their ranked members along with some unranked alphas they agreed to a new treaty in the hopes that they could take care of their own without having to worry about each other.
2017
During a gathering at the lupanar for a full moon event the pack was attacked by an unknown group of humans armed with guns, some loaded with silver bullets. With the combined effort of the pack and some allies who happened to be attending the event they were able to take the group down without any casualties on their side, though there were many wounded.
an attack on the Ulfric on April 1st, 2017 left him incapacitated for a month, leaving him and his pregnant mate vulnerable. Assumed dead for his safety, the pack continued on. While the Ulfric was away, the supernatural hate group HASC broke into the pack's lodge and kidnapped an enforcer, leaving another pack member unconscious. Shortly after the Ulfric returned, his Second, Draven, was also taken, with a sexual surrogate wounded.
Because of the near constant fear on the pack, the Ulfric decided to give each pack member a magical warding charm to wear at all times.
The pack allied themselves with the Kiss in order to expand their efforts to find the hate group HASC and dispose of its members. Shortly after this their enforcers was found, left for dead, or assumed dead by the person who dumped her there, but she miraculously survived and soon after Draven was able to escape from HASC's clutches as well.
On December 14th, 2017 and after the birth of his son, Max stepped down as Ulfric for the sake of his family. It was at that point that Draven Slade, former Geri and long time member of the pack, went to the ancestors at the Lupanar and was granted their gifts and permission to step into leadership. Since then, Draven has been running the pack as Ulfric.

2016
In part because of the hard to catch nature of the leopard strain, the leopards have
generally been one of the smaller lycanthrope groups in the city, however that doesn't speak to their power.
Before the Dark Coven's attack on the preternatural community in the City the Pard was led by a strong, compassionate,
older woman who had taken over the Pard after the death of her husband in the early 2000's. She was nicknamed Marmar-Ra
and she was a strong, effective leader who worked hard to bring unity within the pard and with their alliances. She recognized how the vampires had been able to be more readily accepted than the lycanthropes and thought that becoming allies with the Kiss would start paving the road to possibly gaining the same acceptance for her and her kind down the line. The pard worked seamlessly under her and they were well on their way to achieving their goals when she and the other ranked members of the pard were taken from them - slaughtered by the coven.
2017
Dean McFarland, a long time member of the Pard, rose to Alpha status and proved himself to be capable of leading the Pard. The Pard had been without a leader for quite a while and Dean rose to the challenge of reuniting the Pard, not just under a new leader, but in the city that seemed to have changed so much in the last year.
The "Templars" are exposed with the Pard. The Templars were a secret organization who believed their core goal and mission was to rid the world of Dark Witches using magic for evil. However, during this time it was revealed that they had been brainwashed by Talia, leader of the Dark Coven who had killed the alphas, masters and leaders in the city, into believing that the witches they were killing were evil when in reality they were killing good witches who stood in Talia's way. After this was revealed all Templar activity was banned within the Pard.
The pard is informed of the danger that is HASC, however there were no moves against the Pard by the hate group by this point.
2018
As the looming threat of HASC grows, Dean informs the Pard of what he has learned of the hate group from other leaders in the city. Having some knowledge of how the hate group has operated in the past Dean puts new safety measures in place to protect the pard and it's members. Extra security was put in place at Central Purrk (Vampire escorts and cctv) and at the Cathouse Apartments along with the encouragement of using the buddy system whilst out.
Lizbeth Marion is kidnapped from Central Purrk Cafe, presumably by HASC.
The Pard host a St. Patrick's Day party that all allies are invited to, wolves, leopards, vampires, lions, and humans gathered
to celebrate together. While out on the water the yacht sinks and all those aboard will soon make a startling
discovery of the
During the full moon Lizbeth Marion's body is found, murdered by Toby "DT" Miller of HASC. Her body is discovered in two different places, her head was found by the pard and her body was found by the Bone Cave Pack and DT's calling card is found with her body.
Towards the end of the month DT shoots himself during a livestream that has all of the lycanthrope groups breathing a bit easier, hoping the torment they have suffered at the hands of HASC is over. After invading DT's stronghold, Avery Sloan is located there, having been kept for over six months.

2017
The Pride has an unusual history as the majority of the members weren't infected with Lion lycanthropy - they were initially other lycanthropes who were a part of the lesser groups of the city like rats, foxes, and bears. After Thanos defeated a witch he had both granted a wish to and cursed for all of the eternity came to the City in the hopes of exacting her own revenge only to find she was too late. She observed the lycanthrope community and found them too spread out and she felt it made them weaker and potentially possible targets for another attack like Thanos'. While Thanos may have cursed her he granted her the wish of having immeasurable power as a witch and she used this power to craft a spell to bring the lycanthrope community together. The spell changed the species of many of the lycanthropes in the city - most of the rats, foxes, and bears were turned into Lions while others were turned into leopards or wolves. Those lycanthropes who had more of a connection with another group outside their species might find their species had changed as well, even if they were in a larger group.
The spell is Cast and the Lions are born into New York.
The mated pair of Lion, Ricco and Hannah, become the leaders of the newly formed Nemean Pride. The Lions band together and start working to become a cohesive group. A member, the former skulk leader, offers the fox's safehouse to the Lions and many of the Lion move in there, including the new leaders.
Two Lions, Ricco, and Areum, are kidnapped after Halloween by a group known as Bestari. They were a group of wealthy white-collar individuals who had run out of interesting things to spend their money on so they invested in building an illegal fight club. The club would kidnap lycanthropes and hold them in cells, forcing them to stay in animal form in some instances to make for more interesting fights.
Ricco and Areum were forced to remain in their animal forms for long periods of time and forced to fight to survive, they were rescued in a joint operation among the pride, pard, and a few stragglers from other groups at the beginning of December.
2018
The Pride suffered a loss in the form of their Regina who left the city without any forewarning, notice, or explanation. Her whereabouts are unknown, but it is believed she left of her own volition wasn't kidnapped or forced to leave.

1952 - 2016
The Kiss is the longest standing group in New York City - they may have only become legal citizens a few decades ago but they have been in the country for as long as America has been America and maybe even before that. The Kiss operated in secret before they were declared legal citizens, quietly working in the background and maintaining their secrecy, one of the most important laws the Vampire Council set forth before vampires were declared legal citizens because it kept them safe. Vampires might be strong and powerful, but they are still outnumbered by humans and there were many instances of vampires becoming known to the humans and being hunted down and killed. Reviewing the entire history of the Kiss would be a book all on its own with the transfer of power from one Master of the City to the next, alliances broken and formed and their history in general. However, the somewhat recent history goes as follows.
In 1952, Henriette a Master vampire from the Padma bloodline was overthrown by a Master vampire she had actually sired named Alaric. He staged a coup, and had precious few people helping him when he killed her and took over as Master of the City - he would soon be known as the 'Tyrant King' as his methods of leadership became known to the Kiss' members. He had an animal to call in the wolves and was a harsh master - not one for befriending, only for seeking power and he was quite cruel to those he had power over. Over the years there were some that rose up against Alaric, but they were all struck down by those who followed him loyally or by his own hand.
His reign would finally end when he disappeared with the rest of the Masters, alphas, and other leaders in 2016, presumably used as a sacrifice for a spell to raise Thanos as the rest of those who were taken were used. Very soon after his proverbial throne was vacated another Master Vampire of the Vittorio line moved from Boston to take over the Kiss.
There were many who weren't happy with the new leadership at first but Kura was quick to put them in their place. Kura's rule was a short one, but those in the Kiss came to respect him, especially when he proved himself a much different MotC than Alaric.
When Kura left New York for Japan with his husband in December of 2016 his second in command, Nova, took the position of master of the City and has been leading ever since. There were many changes to the ranks of the Kiss under Nova, but the transition to being under her leadership seemed to be quite seamless.
2017
A meeting with the Furry Coalition is scheduled and invitations are sent to all the leaders of the groups in the city. All of the leaders when in attendance including Nova and the meeting ended up becoming quite a tense affair when all the lycanthrope Nova was the only one who found the idea of setting up a Furry Coalition in the City a good one, the other leaders weren't so easily swayed and were quite suspicious.
When a large amount of the preternatural community was gathered on the lower floors of the Rhapsody for the afterparty of a wedding a large scale attack was launched on the Kiss. Bloodthirsty revenant Vampires and ghouls were released into the lower floors of the hotel and those there had to defend themselves and protect those who couldn't protect themselves. It turned out that both the revenants and ghouls were under the control of a Necromancer who had to be killed in order to end the attack.
The Kiss suffered several casualties on their side even though the attack would have been considered a failure, a few vampires, pommes, and rolled servants were killed during the attack.
To prevent any attacks like the one the previous month the security at the hotel, specifically for the lower levels, is upgraded. In order to gain access to the lower levels one would need a passcode for the elevator to go down to the levels where the vampires live or a keycard to the stairs to get to the lower levels. In addition, magical warding was added to the hotel for an extra measure.
The kiss is informed of the hate group HASC's attacks against the Pack but their former Ulfric, Max. The Pack sought and gained an alliance with the kiss in the hopes of aid with finding and dispatching HASC.
This is also around the time when the leopards formed an agreeable alliance with the Kiss as well.
Nova becomes Sourdre de Sang of her own line of vampires and becomes more powerful as a result, this means any vampires turned by Nova either before or after this rise in power will be of Nova's bloodline and not Bella Morte's.
2018
Kim Waters, Pomme to Quinn Cole, Second in Command of the Kiss, is assaulted by the Ulfric's mate and Lupa. As a result a trial resulting in a punishment was issued on behalf of the Kiss as pommes fall under the protection of the Kiss.
HASC kidnaps Lizbeth Marion, a pard member, after the vampires who were assigned to escort her were late in arriving, one of the vampires was punished by Nova and the other was handed over to Dean to punish for the vampire's part in Lizbeth's disappearance.
During this time, lust is affecting Manhattan and many vampires are falling victim to their heightened and near uncontrollable bloodlust.

2016
The history of the Atlantic Pod is a bit different than the rest of the preternatural community because of how
secretive the group is. No one outside of the Pod was aware of the abductions and subsequent killings of the last Apex along
with the Sirens of the Pod, it's unclear how the Dark Coven was even aware of the Merrow's existence in the first place. However, that doesn't mean their history doesn't have shared elements, they still suffered the loss of their leader and their strongest members to the Coven that left a hole that needed to be filled. The difference is that the Pod is under the overall leadership of the Queen of the Merrow who rules over all Merrow and the Apex's of all the pods around the world. Where the lycanthropes had no leaders at all, the Merrow still had her.
2017
After maturing into a Siren towards the end of 2016, Benneit Manwyndan filled the spot of Apex in the Atlantic Pod. He soon started filling the positions that had been vacant since the deaths of the other Sirens and the last Apex.
The Pod learns of the kidnapping of Leatrice Salomon by HASC and the Merrow finally have a stake in what happens with the hate group.
2018
There is a sickness among the merrow, the source unknown but perhaps suspected in the wake of recent circumstances. More luck than design has secured a method to stave off the symptoms but there remains no permanent cure (for now). On top of that, their lagoon is being guarded by some great beast of the deep, along with other smaller matters and it has isolated them - so that will need to be dealt with eventually.
During the St. Patrick's Day party on a Yacht put on by the Pard the merrow are revealed to the party goers after the yacht sinks and they are forced to help those who were thrown overboard or went down with the boat. This means they are no longer a secret within the preternaturally community, though they still aren't widely known to the human population.

2016
The New York City Collective Coven has its name for more than one reason – the first is that unlike traditional
covens which tend to have members that are all gifted with the same type of magic the NYCCC has a melting pot
of different witches in its group. The second is that because there are so many different witch types within
the group it is not uncommon for the witches of a particular branch of magic (i.e. elemental, white, etc.) to
perform magic together and have a type of sub-coven within the Collective Coven.
One of the main tenets of the NYCCC is that they protect the city from magical or preternatural threats and as such after the NYC alphas were killed the High Priest and Priestess along with the entirety of the council of the NYC Collective Coven deliberated and after the meetings were over they all decided to step down from their positions on the council, declaring that they all felt like they were at fault for failing to protect the most powerful members in the preternatural community from a black magic coven.
2017
After the void left by the previous Priest, Priestess, and council members had yet to be filled Keaton Lawling stepped up to become the new High Priest of the New York City Collective Coven and slowly started to fill the remaining council positions with qualified witches.
After the Templars' betrayal, Keaton creates a new organization within the Coven: The Order of the Dragon Knights. The organization is meant to continue the mission the Templars were brainwashed into believing they were completing: keeping people safe from Dark Witches that were using their magic to harm.
The Templars were a secret organization who believed their core goal and mission was to rid the world of Dark Witches using magic for evil. However, during this time it was revealed that they had been brainwashed by Talia, leader of the Dark Coven who had killed the alphas, masters and leaders in the city, into believing that the witches they were killing were evil when in reality they were killing good witches who stood in Talia's way.
The Coven closes the veil that was thinned during Thanos' ritual. Before the veil was closed all the spirits who had escaped though it are pulled back and banished from our plane back behind the veil. The veil was successfully closed, but it severely damaged the Coven, as all witches that participated in the ritual are weakened.
The Coven, still severely weakened, host a Yule Log party to help ease the troubled minds in the city. However, due to a fault with the protective wards, a malevolent spirit is able to enter the Coven house. The spirit was destroyed but not without injury and casualty.
